Experience
I trained and worked at Gosford Public Hospital, on the Central Coast of NSW. I spent my final year of study in a Midwifery Group Practice model and I loved it!
As an MGP Midwife at Gosford, I was proudly a part of the launch of the Central Coast publicly funded home birth model, and witnessed first hand the healing and transformative power of birth at home. This has deepened my curiosity of physiological labour and birth and bolstered my passion for continuity of midwifery care models for all women.
During this time, I discovered an interest for early childhood development and preparing parents for the many and unexpected milestones and hurdles of early parenting. I will complete my Graduate Diploma in Child & Family Health soon, and am already enjoying my newfound knowledge and incorporating this into my midwifery care.
Midwifery Interest
I am proud to be a part of a skilled and autonomous profession where I am able to work with women from pre-conception through to early parenting, and find so much joy in seeing how influential the full scope of midwifery care can be. Now as I step into this next venture with My Midwives, I am passionate about working to my full scope as a Midwife, as I work towards Endorsement at the completion of 2024.
I am privileged to work with Congress Alukura to contribute to the strengthening of culturally safe care for First Nations women, and grateful to witness the absolute power and resilience of women and their families. I look forward to learning from the women, their families and my colleagues in Alice Springs.
Personal Interest
I have always had an extra soft spot for animals, growing up I was actually certain I would be a Vet! I do love my dog, but I am without a doubt, a crazy cat lady. Unlike my cats, my dog (Marmaduke) enjoys camping and road trips, with his most recent being from Sydney to Alice Springs!
I am often planning my next international adventure or closer to home camping trip, and I am very excited to explore Central Australia in this new venture. In my downtime I can most often be found doing something creative - I can spend hours with clay, paints, yarn and a side of reality TV!
