Experience
Since commencing my midwifery studies in 2007, I have had a vast array of experiences across different models of care including tertiary hospital, rural hospital, private practice and hospital run home-birth teams. Though my passion for midwifery was sparked earlier than my formal education, growing up (literally) within my mother’s community midwifery business. After completing my midwifery education I worked for a few years at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne, before moving into private practice with My Midwives in 2013. Since then, I have worked across our Melbourne, Brisbane and Toowoomba practices and am currently the Clinical Director of our Melbourne team. In addition, I was one of the first midwives to have private visiting rights in Victoria, one of the first midwives to facilitate water births at the Royal Women's Hospital and am a board member of Midwives Australia.
Midwifery Interest
I am a strong believer in the benefits of one-to-one midwifery care and wish to help integrate this model as affordable mainstream primary care for all families. I am passionate about empowering all women to have the best birth possible and to make informed decisions about what is best for them or their baby.
Personal Interest
I am a sun lover who fell in love with living in the wrong city! But when the rain subsides, I’m bound to be out and about on my bicycle doing the rounds between Melbourne’s cafés. I feel at home in the garden and am adjusting to the challenge of urban gardening in small spaces. I am always excited about the prospect of travelling around the world and learning from different cultures.
