Experience

From the age of 14 I would strongly declare I was going to be a midwife. While at that time I didn’t understand what that meant, that declaration came true when I completed my Bachelor of Midwifery in 2020. Following completion, I commenced working at Gold Coast University Hospital. Here I had many diverse opportunities, caring for women and their families across every area in maternity care, all in varying circumstances. I additionally worked within community clinics providing continuity of care in some amazing teams.

Midwifery Interest

All of my passions stem from my heart for midwifery. Birth is sacred, instinctual and natural, yet unfortunately how we experience it can greatly vary depending on who we are and where we are. I completed a 3-week placement in a remote hospital in the Philippines when I was studying my degree. Here I witnessed significant disparities, but what shone through is how strong women are regardless of the situation around them. My heart is for every woman to feel safe and empowered throughout every stage of their journey of motherhood. I endeavour to always continue learning to ensure I can safeguard this space as best as possible.

Personal Interest

As a North Queenslander at heart, I love any opportunity to get away to the beach, go camping or get on a boat. I also love a cafe morning or to read a good book in the sun with my dog Frankie by my side. But if I’m being honest, most of my personal time may be spent getting side tracked in projects my husband tells me are a bad idea (he’s wrong) or reality TV.
