Experience
I completed my Nursing in 2016 and always knew I wanted to be a midwife but thought I would wait until I had finished having my own children. By the time my second child was four months old, I couldn’t fight the burning desire to throw myself into Midwifery and before I knew it, I had finished a Midwifery degree with distinction with 3 children under the age of 3 and number 4 on the way, who was lovingly birthed at home with My Midwives.
Since completing my degree, I have worked at North West Private Hospital in Brisbane and enjoy supporting, advocating for and caring for women and their families in all areas of maternity care.
Midwifery Interest
I am passionate about providing evidence-based education to support women and their families to make informed choices regarding their pregnancy, labour and birth care and influence their postpartum journey. Having birthed all of my children within midwifery continuity of care models and the last of our children being welcomed at home, I always felt supported, empowered and as though I was an active participant within my maternity care and choices. I love caring for women and their families and promoting birth as the raw and beautiful phenomenon it is!
Personal Interest
I love spending time with my husband and our four beautiful children. I enjoy going camping as often as we can and spending time with our family and friends. I love spending time near the water and will find any excuse I can to convince my husband to agree to a holiday. I also don’t mind a sleep in and a good coffee!!
